Yaz+Meor, Dewan Seri Endon
July 27, 2010Getting to the hall, the beautiful Dewan Seri Endon was not a biggy. It was the 2nd time for me to capture my bride and groom. Just that this time it was a bit different. I must say I am falling in love with them. With their story, with their jovial character. This couple flew from Los Angeles to celebrate their solemnization and receptions in Malaysia. Regardless their tight schedule, the event was successfully held with the presence of family and friends whom they have parted for some time. I’m sure everyone was looking forward to meet them. Yaz and Meor, you guys are superstar of the day! And I must say, it was a great pleasure to be apart of the event.
Congratulations!

The engagement of Farisha and Shahredzuan
July 25, 2010I was referred to Farisha by Anna Rina as the client wanted different flavors for all her events. I was hired to be the official photographer for her engagement ceremony. The solemnization will be shot by Anna herself and Daniel Zain for her big day. Interesting. I would wanna do this too if i have 3 separate events
Sorry Farisha for taking too long to upload the photos! I’ve edited these pics weeks back but had to procrastinate the upload due to a big change of my routine life. I have started working in the office a month ago and my weekday job has taken a big part of my life now
me no likey!
God knows how much I missed shooting and editing. That can only be done on weekends now. That makes me a 7 day worker. This is hard. But this does not make me love shooting less. I’m always looking forward to it as it is considered as my therapy to my stressful weekday job. But thanks to all my kind clients who understands, and I think Farisha must be busy preparing for her big day which is going to happen soon enough. All the best to you guys
I have just finished a wedding session at Dewan Seri Endon, Putrajaya. Am too sleepy now but I know this should not be procrastinated anymore. To Farisha and Shahredzuan, congratulation (maybe a bit late to wish) on your engagement. And may Allah bless both of you!

Sya + Wan : chasing the sunset
June 9, 2010Soft golden ray reflecting the white sandy beach, sea breeze with a smell of shells. Mangrove trees with bulging dramatic roots adds a character to the scene. Beautiful couple, beautiful scenery.. what more can i ask. Here’s some moments captured while waiting for the sunsets. Presenting Sya and Wan..

Banting vs Shah Alam.
June 8, 2010Beautiful weather for a beautiful couple. It was a bit sunny during the solemnization but the evening turned into a beautiful setting for our outdoor session. This is one of the moment where i couldn’t wait to load my photos to my blog. I love everything about this wedding. Most important is the warm hospitality and their willingness to give 100% cooperation. And did I mention I am such a lucky one to have the opportunity to photograph this gorgeous couple, Sya and Ridzuan. As the malay proverb says, “Bagai pinang dibelah dua, sama cantik sama padan”
I was a bit nervous at first because i have never been to Banting before. I left the house 2 hours earlier because i could not predict how the traffic was gonna be, and my sense of direction can not be trusted neither. Getting lost happens everytime when I am traveling alone. But this time, it looks like i stepped out the door on the right foot. I was there an hour earlier. lol, but the client is kind enough to provide me a room in one of the hotel in pekan Banting. That means i had an hour to check my gears while watching tv, having a snack and I actually manage to take a nap. Haha.
The ceremony was held at the bride’s house, just a kilometer away from the hotel. However, she did her makeup and dressed up at the hotel itself. It does not take too long to make up her porcelain white skin. She looks so lovely in cream dresses. The event managed to start on time. The solemnization was done by the bride’s father himself. Everything was kept short and sweet.
The living hall was a bit cramped with close relatives and guests, but being a daughter of a photographer (yes, the father of the bride is a photographer!) they gave me passport to move about to get my shots at the best angle. Everyone seems to be very understanding. I was given the priority as i supposed to as an OP of the event. Unlike some other events, i had to fight for spaces and moments by those who don’t understand the ethics of photography, like blocking the OP while she was doing her job. Pfft! Sya is such a natural with her poses (i know her dad trained her well). Ridzuan has his own charisma that he does not need to try that hard to look good in front of a camera. The camera loves them and vice versa!
I’ll post the outdoor shots and stories on the next entry!
ps: at some angle i think sya looks a lil like the young version of samantha schubert and her makeup artist says she looks a bit like yasmin hani. Agree?

Reza + Edana, Dewan Merak Kayangan
June 6, 2010A week ago I photographed the solemnization of this couple. Now, I was there again to witness the reception party of Reza and Edana. Event was held at Dewan Merak Kayangan and it was smoothly organized by the groom’s family and relatives, Datuk Murad and family. The giggles of the cute flower girls dressed in beige and red dresses brought joy to the whole event. The night wouldn’t be merrier without them!
This event was more like a gathering and a reunion of Datuk’s relatives and friends and to together celebrate the love of this newly wed. I get the chance to meet my relative and my tuition teacher whose also a close friend of Datuk’s. It was a pleasant surprise. Small world, small world!
Here are some of the teasers. I had trouble minimizing my uploads because i love ‘em all.

Feels good to be back :)
May 29, 2010After a so called ‘holiday’, today, i’m back to work
The world has to be fair to everyone else. When i get to enjoy my charamel machiato on weekdays in jeans and tshirt, the rest is facing desktop in a concrete bulding in formal wear. However, today is my turn to pull up my sleeve and work while everyone is still sleeping in their pj on their comfy bed enjoying the public holiday. Its Wesak Day today. I didn’t realize until I saw a very clear traffic (which is a very very rare scene to see) on my way to my client’s place. How I wished everyday is like today.
It feels good to be back to shooting. Edana Melissa is my cousin’s friend. Thanks Aida for recommending me to her. This again proves that the world is not that big anyway. For the nth time, I get to meet someone I knew or somehow connected direct or indirectly to me. It was a pleasure working with you and reza. It is always fun to shoot jovial couples like them. Reza is a funny guy. I heard his friend uttered, no one will ever befriended reza if he is not funny due to his serious look. Well, I did not feel a stranger even though this is the first time we’ve met. Too bad I am not able to cover Edana’s reception tonight at Felda Villa. I’m sure it’s a gonna be a beautiful garden wedding. You’ll be in good hands. See you guys next week!

edana: thanks babe....the photos are great...and thanks for emailing to my other photographer.....suke sangat sume gambar =)
Aida: photos are amazing as usual! and its good to see two really good friends finally happily married :)
fatini: @edana you are welcome babe, glad you loved it! @aida we missed you at the party. wish you were there..
the musings..
May 28, 2010Hello world! It feels ages since i wrote anything lengthy here. I have always loved blogging. I used to blog everyday, sometimes 2 to 3 posts per day
That was then when i was working in the office. Not to say i was bone idle, sit and do nothing better than blogging but the urge of writing was spirited by the fact that you will still get your paycheck the next month if you feel a bit lazy that day to work. On a contrary, being my own boss gives me no time to cheat. No more updating ‘what movie i watch today’ or ‘who i bumped into today’ kinda posts.
Its been 3 years since i last worn the 3 piece suit and high heels and sit in an air-conditioned concrete building for 8 hours or more and worry about my blistered feet. Yes, I detached myself from the organization about 3 year plus ago to do photography fulltime. Being able to wear flip flops, jeans and tshirt is the best thing i’ve ever done in my life besides being able to work your passion as a career. Photography used to be my love affair until I decided to get married to it and pursue as my professional career. I never regret the decision I’ve made, instead I feel so blessed with the hidden talent I never knew I had. Thank god. Years go by so quickly. I have had 3 wonderful years of flexi hours, being able to workout in the morning till noon, shopping when there is not much people in a shopping mall, watching movies without having to stand in a long queue for tickets and do my editings on a comfy couch with a caramel machiato on my side accompanied by jazzy music all day long. But the grass is always greener on the other side no matter on which side of the earth you are standing. Why am I saying this? Have I lost passion in photography now? Definitely No. No way. Never. Am I joining the workforce again? Perhaps. Even though how much I hate to be in the rat race.
So what is the issue now? There is always 2 sides to every story. One day, I realized how tired I am. At some point I told myself, maybe I just need a time off from this commitment or probably go for a holiday. Don’t take any photoshoot assignments for a mo and just relax. Let the camera hibernate for a month or two. But did it really rest? Haha. No. But yes, I paused myself from taking any jobs for few months, but I did some personal project so called shoot-anything-crappy-everyday. This sounds funny but surprisingly this is a good therapy and it really feeds my soul. This project reminds me how i fell in love with photography the first time. The project still continues and I made a vow to myself that this will go on for 365 days. Looks like I am jumping into a more serious commitment? Haha. But this is a fun commitment. No one will penalize me, its just me and my wild imaginary ideas. (My project can be seen on my facebook album )
I hope i did answer the question from those people who emailed me asking why i did not post new photos lately. The temporary absence allow me to take a deep breath, inhale with deep thinking and exhale with new ideas and decide what I want to do next. I’m glad I have found the solution

Ain + Faiz Solemnization
April 26, 2010When this client called me to reconfirm about the dates and some minor change on their wedding itinerary, my eyes teared. I had nothing but feel sorry about mishap that happens to her family members. Lets all of us pray so that your sister will be cured from her condition.
The wedding has to go on even though with a simple matrimony. However with the presence of relatives and close friends, they have made the event a success. To ain and family stay strong especially for your sister. Insyaallah God’s will, she’ll be up and healthy again.

Gadis Melayu
April 12, 2010When a photobuddy invited me for a photoshoot, i didn’t any ask further about the concept and details about it. It sounds more like a fun outing and i bet it must be a lay-back kinda photoshoot. Photoshoot was held at the lakeside of pullman hotel, putrajaya. I reached a bit late and i can see from a far, a bunch of photographers were shooting a model in a traditional malay costume. As theme given by the organizer, ahfong.. its called the legendary Mahsuri.
Weather was good even though a bit hot at first so we just opt for natural lighting and a reflector at first. Then the evening gets a bit darker and nice golden hue. We set couple of flashguns just to highlight the subject a lil.
Again, thanks to Mr organizer and the rest of the gang for an unexpected fun outing.

aida: so sweet... fantastic
andaq: sgt2 cantek! like ur artwork.. :)
rain or shine..?
March 26, 2010We decided to have the outdoor photoshoot earlier than planned as the event settled quite early. It was close to 4.30pm and the sun was bright and scorching. We headed to the nearby park by the mosque in Alam Damai. Nice scenery. Waited at the gazebo in a bit to catch our breath.. The spot needs a lil climb up. I was sweating like mad.. The couple was fine with it and they give 100% cooperation. We started the photoshoot and in less than 10 minutes the sky turns dark. Before we know, the drizzle start falling and we had to stay under the shade hoping the rain would stop soon. Lucky enough we brought umbrellas and the photoshoot still goes on even under the rain. I had to switch lens and stay under the shade while the couple do their thing under the rain.. I guess we had a great time.. More photos will be uploaded soon..
