27th January 2008 was a memorable date for this couple, syakirah & fairizat which also my cousin. And its held 3 days after my birthday.. which also 3 days after i’ve got throat infection. I was praying and behaving myself. Eating well and being very discipline with my meds. What i wanted is to be healthy for my cousin’s big day.

Well, photographer is as important as tok kadi and mak andam. I was fortunate that the meds worked

this time. Thanks to Dr.Nasir for the effective meds that puts me in bed for 2 days. I managed to capture my cousin’s divine wedding. Thanks to the weather. The sky was blue and sunny.

It was very hot that day.. i pushed myself, and being a solo photographer for a wedding ain’t easy. I think my fever is coming again. And guess i have to pay Dr.Nasir a revisit.

To sya and ijat, congratulation and your album will be ready in 3 weeks! Here’s some teasers..

Retro Couple

12th January 2008 – A trip to Melaka this time was on 2 purposes. Visiting a friend’s wedding and also being hired as an official photographer. Zati was an ex-colleage of mine. Thanks for believing in me. And thanks for being given an opportunity to capture your big day.

This is my first time shooting a double wedding. But i was assigned to cover only her side. Phew lucky me! I was quite surprised to see another 4 photographers covering the other side. But it was nice to see how they work. It’s Nurul and Suhaimi from Lifestyle Photography.

I’d like to say thanks to this jovial couple and congratulations! Here are some of the shots i took. They look good in black and white.

I work closely with Flickr. Its my playground where i spend most of my time dealing with my photos. I was browsing WP plugins till i came across this cool tool.

Now, it makes my life even easier to link my photos and blogs together without having to use multiple online albums and uploader. Gosh, this thing makes me go back to my geeky years. I’ve been spending hours infront of my mac since last nite and still couldn’t get tired of it!

As for now, I will try to load some of my exhibition series using my Wordpress Flickr Manager..

kids know IT.

By the way, this is ica from my “WOMEN & AIDS” exhibition series.

A visit to the Orang Asli village has open my eyes and gave me a new experience of a culture and lifestyle we don’t see everyday. Hunting is one of the major activity of their daily routine. The male adults will go out to the jungle and hunt for food, while the ladies stay at home and build huts and taking care of the kids. What amazed me was the kids. They run around their teritory with their peers playing beetles and knives. Don’t be surprised kids aged 3-5 are seen with knives and smoke cigarettes. According to the adults, smoking cigarettes is good for them. Well, don’t ask me the logic behind it.

But it was an experence i’ll never forget!

taman negara

Backpacking alone is not bad at all. Especially when you are a young single lady like moi! Why? hmm.. you’ll know later. Well there’s pros and cons but travelling alone is about meeting new faces and mingle around. When i decided to pack my bag, i had a very limited money, energy and zero expectation. I brought no food, no camping gear.. just a few clothes to keep me dry for a few days. Its more like go-with-the-flow kinda trip. So the best thing to do is to bring no other. just me! I need to be closer to the nature after a quite some time leaving my steps in a jungle. And Taman negara is a place i always wanted to go. So i guess i just have to trust my gut feelings and go.

But too bad, I am too tired to blog about this lil adventure of my journey now. More stories and photos coming soon. I need some manicure/pedicure and a massage now!

Kids Portraiture – Mikhail

22nd December 2007 – I turned my house into a mini studio for my lil client Mikhail. Just because they are kids, they don’t need expensive props and make up, but says who shooting them is easy. It ISN’T. Fortunately enough kids are natural poser and they will never go wrong in front of the camera. The more hyper they are actually the better the image turns out. But to control the situation and to get their mood requires certain skills. Well there is no magic and secret skills to me.. just a casual conversation and the most is to keep the mommy away!

If you are interested to get your kids a portfolio like this, contact me to make an appointment. We watch kids grow everyday but the moment will never turn back. So, don’t you want to capture this magical moment so they will appreciate when they get older? Don’t wait..

By the way, if you happen to search for a kid talents you can contact mikhail on the number on his biodata above. Or you can mail me and i will forward you to his mom.

15th December 2007 - A wedding full of blooming fresh flowers. With a concept of garden wedding held in Kelab Darul Ehsan, witnessed by family, friends and VIPs. Young couple Diana and Hadi was the limelight of the night. They look astounding in metallic green suit. All eyes glued when they walk down the isle ushered by lil lovely maids.

I was honoured to be given a task as an official photographer to compile their esteemed event into their lifetime journal. Besides, there were crews from TV3 to capture the scene for Nona (a malaysian TV programme). The event was properly planned. A very short and sweet event was closed with a family joget lambak.

I must say everything went well and everyone was happy! And did I say the family loves the photos?? Special thanks to Jiman and family for the opportunity. I had fun too!
